I studied art at the Royal Academy Schools, Sheffield College of Art and Nottingham College of Art in the early 70’s. I am part of Crouch End Open Studios. I have exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. I make pictures from what I see and experience around me and try to convey a feeling that could be described as a presentment but not necessarily a foreboding. My landscape derived paintings and people in lanscape have a semi-abstract quality, one that I hope gives a sense of 'edge of consciousness' leaving enough space to resonates with the viewer's own memories and experience. On the other hand, the portraits shown here were simply likenesses I painted in response to lockdown and not being able to see family and friends in the flesh.
